Field Museum

The Field Museum is a Chicago-based natural history museum dedicated to exploring and understanding the natural world and human cultures. Through its extensive collections, scientific research, exhibitions, and educational programs, the museum inspires curiosity, advances knowledge, and connects people with the world around them.

Job Highlights

• Monitor and control visitor access throughout the Museum while maintaining sign-in, sign-out, and badging procedures
• Protect Museum collections, property, visitors, and staff by deterring and responding to security concerns
• Assist with crowd control at entry points and patrol assigned areas as directed
• Observe and report activities or incidents to help maintain a safe and orderly environment
• Lock and unlock designated Museum entrances, areas, and exits according to established schedules and procedures

Candidate Profile

• 1+ year of security experience required
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and take charge in rapidly escalating situations
• Strong computer skills, including Gmail, Google Calendar, and other digital tools
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
