What You'll Do:
Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a public transportation location.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting relevant information to site contacts and/or public agency representatives.
Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, waiting areas, boarding points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and help to deter unauthorized access.
Monitor entry and restricted areas, assist with access control procedures, and provide directions and information to the public while supporting daily operations at a government location.
Observe and report maintenance concerns, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations, and assist with crowd management during busy travel periods, service disruptions, and/or special events.
Minimum Requirements:
Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
