Morris County Aftercare Center is seeking an armed security officer for an outpatient methadone treatment facility located in Denville, NJ that will safeguard patients and staff during business hours. Must be certified in the state of NJ. Hours of operation are M-F 5:30AM - 12:30 PM and Sat 7-9AM.Salary is competitive, and ranges from $42,000-$52,000 annually depending upon experience. Benefits are generous, and include paid time off, paid holidays, and medical/dental/life insurance.The Security Officer is responsible for the safety of employees and clients who enter and exit the building daily. It involves collaboration with the Facilities Director, employees, and clients.Meet and greet all visitors to facility, being a public face to the companyDe-escalate and take charge of all tense situations that may ariseRespond immediately to any loud noises, raised voices/shouting coming from the facilityRoutinely patrol the building, both inside the facility, and the outer perimeter of the building for suspicious activityConducts visual inspections both inside and out of property for any safety concerns and or damages to property or materials on the premisesMonitor security cameras and footage in the lobbyMaintains Liaison/ Receptionist duties for incoming visitorsPerforms administrative and security lobby operationsMaintains office security by following safety procedures in the lobby areaMaintains necessary security logs, forms and records for all visitorsProcess incoming and outgoing visit requests for security purposesAssist the Facilities Director with maintaining security policies and procedures pertaining to assigned dutiesRepresents the organization in a courteous and professional mannerAssist with being the liaison with building management and contractors for general office maintenanceAssist with sort incoming mail by departmentAssist with validating deliveries and sort according to departmentsProvide training for back up in positionConduct walking audits associated with general safety and security procedures, physical safety and security systems, keys and complianceMaintain visitor logsPartner with facilities in an as needed basisAssist with monthly safety drills, inspections and exercises on an as needed basisAdheres to all confidentiality laws as applied to substance useAdheres to the professional code of ethics of the agencyDemonstrates awareness of and competency in cultural diversityDevelops personal & professional goals in conjunction with supervisor to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of programmingMaintains all licensing and certifications for life and safety protocolsAbility to de-escalate and calm a tense situationAbility to multi-taskAbility to remain focused and calm in all situationsBe professional and discreetValid US Driver's LicenseExperience working as security, either at prior office buildings, or law enforcement/military experienceMinimum requirements:Must be at least 21 years of ageBaton and Pepper Spray permits are a plusGuard CardLaw enforcement, security, or military experience strongly preferredCPR certification is a plusAbility to pass a drug testReliable form of transportationPhysical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periodsObservational and communication skills
