As a Security Officer - Campus Patrol in Phoenix, AZ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
Pay Rate: $20.26 / Hour

How This Role Works:
- Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate for an educational location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and report observations according to site protocols.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, common areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points, check credentials when required, and assist with directing visitors, students, and staff in accordance with location procedures.
- Document incidents, policy violations, maintenance concerns, and/or unusual activity, and communicate relevant information to supervisors, campus contacts, and/or local first responders when appropriate.
Minimum Requirements:
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- A guard card/license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
