How you'll make an impact in this role

  • Proactive Surveillance: Conduct continuous monitoring and high-visibility patrols (foot and vehicle) to deter, detect, and respond to potential security threats within the campus.

  • Incident Management: Investigates and documents security breaches, hazardous conditions, and physical altercations, ensuring all incidents are managed according to facility policy.

  • Disaster Response: Maintain expert-level knowledge of emergency codes, alarm systems, and disaster preparedness plans.

  • Public Assistance: Serve as a primary point of contact for visitors and staff, providing information and assistance to promote a culture of safety and service excellence.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Drivers License credentialed from the Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles obtained within 12

Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date required. License from Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia and Delaware also accepted.

  • Security Guard obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Security guard certification through the Maryland State Police Licensing Division.
  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Law Enforcement preferred.
  • Management of Aggressive Behavior credentialed from the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International, Inc. preferred
  • Security Professional credentialed from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) preferred.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
