What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site leadership and/or public sector contacts.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit activity by verifying credentials, observing for suspicious behavior, and following post orders related to restricted or public access areas.
- Carry and maintain authorized equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies and site requirements, using sound judgment during patrols, calls for service, and/or interactions with the public.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or possess a college degree.
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a DD214 with Honorable Discharge or an associate degree, 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
