    Position Overview

    As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of intrusion devices and security systems. You will gain exposure to our comprehensive portfolio of low-voltage solutions, applying your technical expertise to deliver fast, efficient, and customer-focused resolutions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and replace security and intrusion devices.

    • Maintain frequent communication with the office for service work orders and updates.

    • Adhere to all company service policies, procedures, and safety standards.

    • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and fulfill reasonable overtime requests as needed.

    Key responsibilities and accountabilities, but are not limited to:

    • Promptly arrives by 7:15 am daily, in company uniform of EE polo shirt and khaki pants or shorts ready for morning service meeting.
    • Test/troubleshoot security systems, fire alarms, home automation systems, pool alert systems and any other systems as directed by the builder/home owner.
    • Perform upgrades and additions to systems in order to increase functionality and usability, along with generating any said change order or new quote for client while on site.
    • Read drawings and project plans; verify all blue prints with supervisor and/or account manager.
    • Review all pending jobs for the day with the service manager and sharing any global finding from the field in the daily service meeting, as well as making sure all parts/service files are ready for the job (s) and all service tickets are closed out in real time with departure/arrival times with job complete accuracy.
    • Completing all tie in paperwork by end of day and returning it to the office in a timely manner.
    • Service technician is to have professional communications and etiquette with the client as to estimated time of arrival and any delays of visit to job site.
    • Performs all demonstration with clients on their systems that have been provided by EE.
    • Service technician are to collect any or final payment or service call fee due while on the job site, as well as conduct company survey with client.
    • Work independently and/or with other technician(s), installation lead technician, installation manager and service manager, as well as train or mentor any junior technicians.
    • Will notify point of contact with any follow up work that needs to done and scheduling before leaving the job site.
    • Ensuring all payments on jobs/tickets are picked up as a regular occurrence.
    • Document service and installation actions by completing forms and/or records in Sedona and ensure completion with time, notes, updating panels, parts needed/used and parts to be ordered, as well updating any new client contacts information. RMA all parts before leaving the job site.
    • Job and service ticket notes in Sedona fsu prior to 5:00pm cutoff daily.
    • Responsible for the performance of other tasks related to this position as they are assigned by management.
    • Maintain knowledge of current industry standards and emerging technologies with recommending any new parts and/or equipment that will add to the company growth.
    • Daily time management such as unloading truck every morning from previous day, loading truck for daily jobs, returning equipment not used with job name back to the warehouse, maintaining truck inventory to minimum quantities, checking parts in/out, making any “pat room runs” when needed and maintaining truck to company cleanliness standards.
    • Provide excellent customer service to our install and service clients.
    • Report any job issues daily to account manager and service manager.
    • Work proactively and in a positive manner with all co-workers.
    • Promptly returns all calls and emails received by the end of each day.

    Additional job scope:

    Maintaining/carrying all applicable tools, ladders, monitors, patch/special programming cables, pims, serial adapters, switches, wifi boosters, POE injectors, cut in rings, nose plates, blank plates, inserts, adapters, partial boxes of wire, change of clothes, yard signs, stickers, laptop, etc. Open communication daily with company management team for any concerns. Other duties deemed necessary by management.

    Physical Demands:

    In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and/or hear. Able to lift/move equipment and tools weighing up to 100 pounds. Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders; scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 50 feet, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl. Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision.
