The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with Security USA, Inc. to find qualified candidates for Security Guard positions at a family shelter in Staten Island, NY. Security USA is a growing security company providing professional security services throughout New York and New Jersey. The company serves residential properties, commercial locations, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and retail businesses. Security USA focuses on hiring qualified security personnel who help maintain safe and secure environments for its clients.
Position Overview:The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of a family shelter on Staten Island. This role monitors assigned areas, conducts security patrols, manages access to the facility, and responds to suspicious activity, alarms, and emergencies. Security Guards also document incidents, enforce site-specific rules, and provide professional customer service to residents, employees, and visitors. Candidates must be available and willing to work any available shift.
This position is located in Staten Island, NY.
- Monitor and patrol assigned areas to maintain safety and identify suspicious activity.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents.
- Enforce site-specific rules, access control, and security procedures.
- Check identification and manage facility entry and exit points.
- Document incidents, observations, and security concerns accurately.
- Communicate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
- Operate security equipment, including cameras, radios, and alarm systems.
- Provide professional customer service while maintaining a visible security presence.
- Valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Valid 8-Hour and 16-Hour Security Guard Certificates.
- Valid F-02 Certificate.
- 40-Hour Security Guard Certificate preferred. Candidates without this certificate may obtain it after being hired at no cost.
- F-80 Certificate is a plus.
- Must be available and willing to work any available shift.
- Must provide an updated resume, valid New York State ID, Social Security Card, and F-02 Certificate to interview.
