    Description

    Base salary starts at $17.30/hr.

    * Weekend Shift Saturday/ Sunday 3pm to 11pm*


    E S S E N T I A L  F U N C T I O N S

    • Implements security policies and procedures.
    • Coordinates security measures as needed in a calm and professional manner.
    • Posts in the Emergency Dept. Provide support to the ED medical and nursing staff involving uncooperative, non-compliant and combative medical patients being serviced in the ED.  Monitors conduct of all hospital visitors and patients.
    • Assists the ED Nursing and admitting staff in security protection while registration and medical procedures are performed and when medication administration is required for the psychiatric patient
    • Patrols areas and reports unusual or suspicious activities.
    • Follows procedures in response to all emergency code and demonstrates calm and controlled behaviors during a crisis situation.
    • Checks alarm systems and complete electronic computer status posts in building to document security conditions.
    • Conducts proper hospital closing and opening procedures at established times; conducts Mechanical room walk through to ensure no hazardous conditions exist.
    • Monitor weather during winter months to determine if staff needs to be called in for snow removal.
    • Issues parking tickets/stickers for illegal parking.
    • Monitors security cameras.
    • Conduct fire drills during shift.
    • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance work orders issued.
    • Responds to all codes in a timely manner.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    E D U C A T I O N 

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

     

    E X P E R I E N C E

    • This position trains for approximately six (6) weeks. 

     

    C R E D E N T I A L S

    • Must have current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or must obtain within 60 days of hire and maintain credentials throughout employment with IMH.
    • Must certify in a de-escalation program as approved by IMH within 90 days of hire and recertify yearly to maintain certification throughout employment with IMH.
    • Must have a current, valid, Wyoming driver’s license and be eligible for IMH liability insurance.

    • Working knowledge of security enforcements methods and techniques normally acquired through one year of security experience.
    • Excellent customer service skills, including but not limited to: a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy and a helpful, professional attitude both in person and on the telephone.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers and the general public verbally and in writing.
    • Demonstrate effective listening skills.
    • Excellent organization and time management skills and ability to establish priorities effectively.
    • Possess exceptional problem solving skills.
    • Ability to work effectively without immediate supervision.
    • Ability to learn new computer software programs.
    • Ability to recognize and protect confidential information.
