Signal of New England is seeking a dependable, experienced, and highly motivated Security Field Supervisor to help lead our Mobile Patrol operation throughout Massachusetts.
This is a field-based position and does not require daily reporting to our Natick office. We currently operate four primary mobile patrol routes serving:
Candidates may live near any of these service areas. This is one regional position being advertised in multiple locations.
This is a working supervisor position that combines hands-on vehicle patrol responsibilities with field supervision and operational management. You will personally conduct vehicle patrol shifts while also supervising patrol officers, reviewing reports and run sheets, coordinating scheduling and coverage, monitoring our patrol vehicles, and helping ensure the entire Mobile Patrol operation runs smoothly.
Unlike a traditional management position, this role offers significant flexibility in structuring your weekly schedule.
Our Mobile Patrol operation primarily takes place during evening and overnight hours. The successful candidate will generally have the ability to organize their own schedule based on patrol coverage, field inspections, officer supervision, and the needs of the operation.
This is not a traditional Monday - Friday, 9-5 position. Nights and weekends will be a regular part of the role, and occasional holidays, emergency coverage, or call-outs may be necessary.
We're looking for someone who values that flexibility while also understanding the responsibility that comes with being a leader in a 24/7 operation.
Mobile Vehicle Patrols: Personally conduct scheduled vehicle patrol shifts using a company patrol vehicle, including routine and random inspections of contracted client properties.
Field Supervision: Conduct announced and unannounced visits to our patrol routes and client sites to support and supervise officers, verify compliance with post orders, and maintain our standards for professionalism, uniform appearance, alertness, and customer service.
Patrol Operations: Help oversee the day-to-day operation of our four Mobile Patrol routes and ensure patrols are being completed accurately, consistently, and on time.
Run Sheets & Reporting: Review patrol run sheets, activity reports, incident reports, photographs, timestamps, and other documentation to ensure officers are completing their responsibilities and clients are receiving the services they expect.
Officer Management: Coach, support, train, and hold patrol officers accountable while helping create a positive and professional working environment.
Scheduling & Coverage: Manage and coordinate Mobile Patrol scheduling and work with our Operations team to address call-outs, open shifts, schedule changes, and other coverage needs.
Alarm & Emergency Response: Respond to alarms, disturbances, client requests, and other security-related situations and coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services when appropriate.
Vehicle & Fleet Oversight: Monitor the condition of patrol vehicles, coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs, identify vehicle issues, and help ensure our fleet remains safe, clean, reliable, and operational.
Operational Coordination: Work closely with our Operations team to ensure patrol routes, staffing, vehicles, reporting, client expectations, and other operational needs remain coordinated.
Client Service: Maintain professional relationships with our clients and address field-level concerns quickly and professionally.
Emergency Coverage: When necessary, be willing to step in and assist with coverage to ensure our clients do not go without contracted security services.
We're looking for someone who wants ownership and responsibility, not simply another security shift.
The right person for this position:
Driving Experience: Minimum of 5 years of licensed driving experience.
Driving Record: Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets company and commercial automobile insurance requirements.
Availability: Must be available to regularly work evenings and overnights, with weekend and occasional holiday availability based on operational needs.
Regional Travel: Must be comfortable driving throughout Greater Boston, Merrimack Valley, MetroWest, Worcester, and surrounding Massachusetts communities.
Technology: Must be comfortable using mobile applications and computer-based systems for scheduling, patrol reporting, incident documentation, and communication.
Background Screening: Must successfully complete required background screening and drug testing.
The following experience is preferred but not required:
Don't check every box? We still encourage you to apply. We're looking for the right combination of leadership, dependability, judgment, work ethic, and willingness to learn. Security experience is helpful, but we're also interested in candidates from other industries who have successfully supervised people and managed field-based operations.
This isn't a position where you'll spend every day sitting behind a desk.
You'll have the opportunity to be in the field, work directly with your officers, operate company patrol vehicles, solve problems, interact with clients, and have a meaningful impact on how our Mobile Patrol operation performs.
You'll also have significant independence in organizing your weekly schedule. We're looking for someone we can trust to understand what needs to get done, determine where they need to be, and take ownership of making it happen.
If you're a strong leader who enjoys being in the field, solving problems, working independently, and taking ownership of an operation, we'd like to hear from you.
