PURPOSE<\/span> <\/span>OF <\/span>THE <\/span>POSITION: <\/span><\/span><\/b>Work as a member of the Program Design and Management
Team to promote a healthy, safe and clean environment for Head
Start children and staff.<\/span>

QUALIFICATIONS<\/span><\/span>
<\/h1>- High
School Diploma or GED and 2 years of custodial experience.<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Must
have the knowledge, skills and experience needed to perform the assigned
functions responsibly.<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Must
be able to serve and effectively communicate to the extent feasible, staff,
children and families within the community.<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Must
possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License and reliable transportation.<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - An
acceptable Criminal Record Check and Child Protective Services search, TB tine
test and physical required for employment.<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ul> <\/span>
<\/p>
DUTIES<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/b><\/span><\/span>INCLUDE:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/div>- <\/span><\/b>Works
with the service area supervisors and coordinators to prepare a safe, clean,
and healthy environment for children and staff of the Head Start Program.<\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li> - Clean
offices, classrooms, restrooms and cafeteria on a daily basis.<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Monitors
the inventory of all cleaning supplies and equipment needed.<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Secures
building at the end of each evening session.<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Ensures
safety of children and staff departing the center.<\/span>
<\/span><\/li> - Assists
the Center Coordinator in notifying proper authorities and/or Supervisor
regarding emergency situations.<\/span>

Requirements<\/h3>- High

Benefits<\/h3>
Leave is
characterized as Annual Leave and Sick Leave. As a Full -time employee, you will
accrue Annual Leave each pay period for a total of 10 days per year, for each
of the first five years of employment. You will also accrue five (5) hours of
sick leave each pay period. In addition to Annual Leave and Sick Leave HRCAP
grants employees one day of paid time each year for their birthday.<\/span>

Hampton Roads Community Action
Program provides eleven (11) paid holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King

Medical, dental and vision insurance
coverage options are available for employees and dependents. Employer pays
seventy -five (75%) of the premium costs for health insurance. Coverage becomes
effective on the first day of the month following the date of hire. The cost of
coverage depends on the plan options and/or dependent coverage elected. All
health insurance premiums are deducted from payroll on a pre -tax basis through
a Section 125 Plan. <\/span>Our retirement plan
consists of a dollar -for -dollar matching contribution on salary reduction
contributions made by each participant up to 3% after one year of service.<\/span>
