Job Summary

This position is advertised from the minimum to mid-point hourly rate. Salary will be determined on education and experience at the time of offer.

NATURE OF WORK:

Under close supervision, performs work of routine difficulty in monitoring Detention security environment; this position has department specific responsibility.

Nature of Work

(Illustrative Only) Monitors the safety and security of the detention center; performs routine electronic and video surveillance of security staff and prisoners; maintains detention records and reports; performs routine clerical duties; performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; must successfully complete minimum forty hours of detention training; may be required to successfully complete a background check, polygraph, drug test, prior to appointment; must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of: County policies and procedures; principles and practices of a detention center; data processing equipment and video monitoring.

Skill in: Effectively communicating with individuals of various socioeconomic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds; analyzing situations, detecting problems, and documenting atypical occurrences; responding to emergencies and stressful situations calmly, quickly, and decisively; report preparation and record keeping.

Medical Coverage Category

The YCEBT is a self-funded medical plan administered by BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona (BCBSAZ). The employee is able to select from two (2) medical plan options with six (6) tiers that will best suit the employees needs, dependents or families.

Plan Option 1: Preferred Provider Option A (PPO) or PPO A 1100 deductible. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing a preventative visit.

Plan Option 2: High Deductible High Plan - Health Savings Account (HDHP-HSA) with a 1700 deductible. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing a preventative visit.

Employer contributes a total of $800.04 to employees Health Savings Account. If employees select Employee only and participate in the "Wellness Incentive" employees can receive up to 360.00 contribution to a Limited Purpose FSA card to be used for medical or dental purposes.

International Medical Solutions (IMS): IMS is available to employees who are enrolled in YCEBT Medical PPO Plan A and HDHP. Members enrolled in the PPO plan can pay as little as $5 copay for doctor visits & prescription drug services, with no maximum cap. High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) pay toward their deductible until is met. After the deductible is satisfied, the plan will pay 80% of the services covered, and the member will be responsible for the remaining 20% coinsurance.
