We are looking for a Security Architect – Consultant: Location: Columbia, SC (Remote) Position Type: 12+ Months Contract Position.

Candidate Location: Nationwide – must be able to work Eastern Time Zone hours
Duration: 12 Months
Interview: 1 Round – Virtual or onsite for local candidates

Position Summary: The ideal candidate will be a strong security engineering generalist with experience supporting large, complex enterprise environments and developing security automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, REST APIs, JSON, and YAML.
After-hours maintenance, incident escalation support, and operational handoffs may be required.
Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, or related field. 8+ years of relevant experience may substitute for education.
• 5+ years supporting large IT environments, security systems, software development, and/or system deployments.
• Hands-on security engineering experience across multiple cybersecurity platforms and technologies.
• Strong Python experience developing security automation, scripts, integrations, utilities, and custom tools.
• Strong troubleshooting experience across:
  • Security platforms
  • Applications
  • Operating systems
  • Networks
  • Identity services
  • Enterprise integrations
• Strong Linux administration experience including deployment, configuration, patching, scripting, monitoring, service management, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
• Experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, REST APIs, JSON, YAML, and vendor SDKs.
• Experience supporting enterprise security technologies including:
  • IAM
  • DSPM
  • Attack Surface Management (ASM)
  • Vulnerability Management
  • Email Security
  • Endpoint Security
  • SIEM / SOAR
  • Logging & Monitoring
  • Cloud Security
• Strong understanding of:
  • Enterprise Security Architecture
  • Incident Response
  • Networking
  • Access Control
  • Secure Software Development

  • Cybersecurity frameworks

Preferred Skills

• CISSP, Security+, GIAC, or similar cybersecurity certification.
• Linux, Python, Cloud, IAM, or security engineering/platform certifications.
• Security engineering experience within large, multi-tenant, shared-services, or managed-service environments.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, Docker, security sensors, monitoring, scripting, and platform administration.
• Experience supporting SOC analysts, security engineers, incident responders, and agency customers.
• Experience with technologies such as:
  • Palo Alto Networks
  • Proofpoint
  • Tenable
  • Cribl
  • WUG / WhatsUp Gold
• Experience developing playbooks, runbooks, procedures, and technical documentation.
