Description

    Job Title: Security Analyst 1
    Location: Fully remote. Anywhere in the US is OK
    Duration: 5+month contract (Conversion Possibility: Yes)
    Working Hours: 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM Pacific Time (PT)
    Start Date: Targeting July 2026
    Pay Rate: $39.43/hr. - $43.66/hr. on W2
    Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision.
     
    Work Arrangement:
    • Remote – Anywhere in the U.S.
    • Core working hours will follow the Pacific Time Zone.
    Conversion Possibility: Yes
    Schedule
    • Rotating schedule:
      • 2 weeks at 36 hours/week
      • 1 week at 48 hours/week (Overtime is allowed)
    • Position 1: Monday–Wednesday and every 3rd Sunday
    • Position 2: Wednesday–Friday and every 3rd Saturday
    • On-Call: Required only on scheduled workdays, covering the full 24-hour period, including holidays.
    Job Description:
    Experience Required
    • 1+ years of experience in IT or Security Operations (internships or cybersecurity bootcamps are acceptable)
    Responsibilities
    • Serve as the first point of contact for triaging security alerts and engage senior analysts and management as needed.
    • Correlate data from SIEM, EDR, and firewall logs.
    • Perform basic log analysis and escalate suspicious activity.
    • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and escalate issues or improvement opportunities.
    • Map basic security incidents to the MITRE ATT&CK framework during documentation.
    • Identify and escalate issues related to data privacy.
    • Document incidents in ticketing systems.
    • Support endpoint and network monitoring activities.
    • Participate in shift handovers and daily SOC briefings.
    • Monitor and triage low-level security alerts.
    • Follow established SOC procedures and document findings.
    • Recognize when security alerts should be escalated to senior analysts.
    Required Skills
    • 1+ years of experience in IT or Security Operations (internships or bootcamps acceptable).
    • Basic understanding of networking protocols and operating systems.
    • Basic understanding of incident response phases.
    • Awareness of common Indicators of Compromise (IOCs).
    • Familiarity with ticketing systems and escalation procedures.
    • Familiarity with SIEM tools and log analysis.
    • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

    • CIA Triad, Malware, Phishing, Brute Force, DDoS
    Operating Systems
    • Windows (Event Viewer, Task Manager)

    Security Tools
    • SIEM: Splunk (basic search), IBM QRadar (offense monitoring)
    • AV/EDR: Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike
    • Ticketing: ServiceNow, Jira
    Cloud & Container Technologies
    • Basic AWS and Azure console navigation
    • Understanding of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
    • Basic understanding of Docker and Kubernetes
    GenAI Tools
    • ChatGPT or similar AI tools for threat research assistance and automated report summarization
    Preferred Certifications
    • CompTIA Security+
    • CompTIA Network+
    • CompTIA CySA+
    • GIAC GSOC
    • Or currently pursuing equivalent foundational cybersecurity certifications.
