This Section Coordinator position is based in Port Charlotte, FL at a full-service clinical laboratory and anatomic pathology facility serving both hospital and physician office clients. The role is a full-time, night-shift position with rotating weekend coverage.

The role. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the Section Coordinator oversees day-to-day lab operations by prioritizing, performing, and delegating laboratory testing based on patient information, urgency, and staff capabilities. The coordinator executes stat procedures, analyzes testing samples, and maintains quality control documentation in accordance with established protocols. A key part of the position involves assisting the supervisor or department head with training and developing laboratory personnel to meet regulatory agency requirements. The coordinator also serves as a frontline leader — providing the Laboratory Manager with regular operational updates and modeling positive, effective working relationships with the broader team.

What we're looking for.
  • Associate degree (2-year) in Science required; Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Medical Technologist required
  • Active State of Florida Technologist Supervisory License required
  • ASCP or equivalent certification strongly preferred

Schedule. Full-time, nights with rotating weekends.

Compensation. $32.62 - $48.93/hr
