Tulane Research Innovation in Arrhythmia Discovery (TRIAD) seeks a highly organized, mission-driven Section Administrator III to serve as an operational leader for a dynamic center dedicated to advancing research, collaboration, and impact. This role is ideal for a strategic problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced academic environment and can effectively manage financial and administrative operations, personnel and cross-departmental priorities. This individual will serve as a central point of connection for faculty, staff, fellows, students, and external partners, translating leadership priorities into effective execution and ensuring that the Center's operational foundation supports its broader goals. Candidates should bring strong judgment, financial acumen, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities, make sound decisions, and ensure appropriate follow-through and accountability.
The successful candidate will be energized by the opportunity to build systems, improve workflows, and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the Center. They will oversee key operational and financial processes, support and develop staff, partner with leadership on planning and execution, and help foster a collaborative, responsive, and welcoming environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in operations management, research or academic administration, financial management, or project/program management who combines a service-oriented approach with the confidence to take ownership, navigate ambiguity, and drive work forward.
Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor's degree with 2 years directly-related work experience or high school diploma or equivalent with 6 years directly-related work experience
Preferred Qualification:
Experience in preparing research budgets
Experience managing research/clinical trials
Administrative and management experience
Financial and budgetary development and management experience
Supervisory experience
Excellent computer skills including use of Excel and Excel Pivot Tables
Experience using data to make management decisions and for planning
Ability to prioritize function independently, and to work well as part of a team
Excellent written and verbal communication
