POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: SECRETARY (OFFICE OF SCHOOL COUNSELING)

2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR

FULL-TIME, 12 MONTH

PENNSAUKEN CAMPUS

DEADLINE: This position will be filled in no less than ten (10) days after the date of this posting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

  2. Excellent verbal, writing, customer service, organizational, and telephone skills.

  3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and/or student database software.

  4. Maintain cooperative working relationship with colleagues; pleasant office behavior.

  5. Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.

  6. Enjoy working with adolescents.

  7. Successfully undergo a criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident

alien status.

  1. Meet the health qualifications required of all personnel.

  2. Meets NJ residency requirements or willingness to relocate

to NJ within 365 days of employment.

Schools'' Nepotism Policy, File Code: 0142.1.

Salary is based on experience according to the Board of Education of the Camden County Technical Schools and Cam/Voc Education Association Agreement Salary Guide - $37,040-$53,404. This is a full-time, 12-month position.

Interviews are at the discretion of the superintendent and/or designee and based on qualifications for the position.

POSITION GOALS:

To carry out all secretarial duties necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the office assigned.

REPORTS TO: Supervisor assigned per the CCTS' Organizational Chart

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform secretarial and confidential work as assigned.

  2. Receive and route incoming calls, in-person inquiries and correspondence.

  3. Type and proofread using word processing, spreadsheets or database software.

  4. Arrange meetings, prepare agendas, take notes and handle follow-up activities.

  5. Maintain accurate recordkeeping and files.

If assigned as the Principal's Secretary:

  1. Supervise office operations and personnel.

  2. Test and interview applicants for employment in the high

school office.

  1. Maintain the principal's calendar.

  2. Assist the principal in preparation of the annual budget.

  3. Order supplies annually for office staff and teachers.

  4. Maintain log of teacher attendance and note when absence slips

are submitted.

  1. Maintain log for all room reservations.

  2. Maintain office housekeeping and security.

  3. Distribute paychecks.

  4. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor assigned per the CCTS' Organizational

Chart/or designee.
