Secret-Cleared Systems Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared Systems Engineer in Woodland Hills, CA for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Systems Engineer will lead technical baseline development, system architecture, design reviews, configuration management, and verification activities for integrated hardware and software systems. This role requires systems engineering experience, proficiency with requirements and modeling tools, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams through Critical Design Review and production readiness.

Required Skills

• Active Secret clearance required at the time of hire.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Demonstrated systems engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or defense.
• Experience defining, analyzing, and managing functional and performance requirements.
• Proficiency with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Cameo, MATLAB, or comparable software.
• Experience maintaining requirements traceability and confirming requirement verifiability.
• Experience developing functional and physical system architectures.
• Experience conducting trade studies and evaluating technical solutions.
• Experience supporting or leading design reviews.
• System integration experience.
• Verification and validation experience.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate technical concepts for nontechnical audiences.
• Ability to collaborate across mechanical, electrical, software, integration, and test teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Preferred Skills

• Model-Based Systems Engineering experience.
• Understanding of inertial navigation, guidance systems, or related products.
• Experience supporting Systems Requirements Reviews, System Functional Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews, or Critical Design Reviews.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing.

What You’ll Do

• Capture, analyze, finalize, and maintain technical requirements baselines.
• Maintain requirements traceability in DOORS.
• Develop system architectures and conduct trade-off studies.
• Lead internal and external design-review meetings.
• Maintain Interface Control Documents and verification matrices.
• Coordinate hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop test activities.
• Lead verification execution and analyze test results.
• Resolve discrepancies and close verification activities.
• Manage configuration baselines, version control, and change-impact analyses.
• Develop system requirements, design descriptions, test plans, risk registers, status reports, and executive presentations.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Identify process inefficiencies and support continuous improvement.

Work Schedule / Shift

• 9/80A schedule.
• Full-time onsite in Woodland Hills, CA.

Pay

• $94.89 per hour
