PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared RF/Analog Electrical Engineer in Rolling Meadows, Illinois for an approximately five-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support full lifecycle development of RF, analog, mixed-signal, and electro-optical hardware from requirements and circuit design through prototyping, integration, verification, production, and field support. The engineer will work on complex electronic warfare and sensing hardware in a cross-functional engineering and manufacturing environment.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of electronics design experience, or master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of electronics design experience.
- Senior-level candidates may qualify with a bachelor’s degree in STEM and 8+ years of electronics design experience, or a master’s degree in STEM and 6+ years of electronics design experience.
- RF and/or analog circuit design experience from schematic capture through test and integration.
- Hands-on prototyping, troubleshooting, and debug experience with complex RF subsystems.
- Experience developing circuit cards incorporating components such as amplifiers, mixers, control systems, ADCs, DACs, and/or phase-locked loops.
- Ability to translate system performance and operational requirements into hardware requirements, design specifications, and test requirements.
- Experience with RF, analog, mixed-signal, and/or electro-optical component design and analysis.
- Familiarity with engineering documentation, configuration control, and requirements-management tools such as DOORS, ClearCase, and ClearQuest.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Interim Secret clearance required prior to starting.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Preferred Skills
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- 7+ years of RF and/or mixed-signal electronics design experience.
- Knowledge of Electronic Warfare systems.
- Recent circuit-card design experience using Cadence Concept, Allegro, Mentor DxDesigner, and/or Expedition.
- Experience with Advanced Design System (ADS).
- Experience with MATLAB modeling and simulation.
- Experience with SPICE modeling tools.
- Experience designing electro-optical circuitry, controls, detectors, and data-conversion hardware.
- Current Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and independent problem-solving skills.
What You’ll Do
- Perform full lifecycle RF and analog hardware development from system concept through field support.
- Research, design, and develop RF, analog, mixed-signal, signal-conversion, and electro-optical products.
- Develop circuit-level hardware using MMICs, discrete devices, data converters, controls, and related technologies.
- Create schematics and support circuit-card design, layout, integration, and verification.
- Prototype and debug complex RF subsystems and circuit-card assemblies.
- Perform modeling, simulation, laboratory testing, and design verification.
- Translate system-level performance requirements into hardware architectures and detailed design requirements.
- Develop test specifications and support subsystem and circuit-level testing.
- Support design reviews, documentation, revision control, and configuration-management activities.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program Management throughout product development and production.
