PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared Embedded Software Engineer in Chandler, AZ for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will develop and integrate real-time embedded software for complex aerospace and defense systems. The engineer will support the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, detailed design, coding, unit testing, integration, and system-level testing.
Required Skills
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance with an investigation completed within the last 5 years.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with object-oriented software development using C/C++ in a Linux environment.
- Experience developing, debugging, and testing embedded real-time software.
- Experience working with real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, Integrity, LynxOS, Yocto Linux, or an equivalent RTOS.
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering team.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with PowerPC, ARM, and/or RISC-V architectures.
- Experience with real-time computer-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop test environments.
- Experience designing, integrating, and testing embedded software with real-time computing hardware.
- Experience developing software interfaces supporting weapon-system integration.
What You’ll Do
- Develop requirements for real-time embedded software systems.
- Support software architecture development and detailed design.
- Develop embedded software using C/C++ in Linux and RTOS environments.
- Perform code development, unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Support software integration and system-level testing.
- Develop and integrate software for real-time computing platforms.
- Participate in computer-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing activities.
- Develop interfaces supporting integration with larger system and weapon-system architectures.
- Ensure established software development standards and engineering practices are followed.
- Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, test, and other engineering disciplines throughout development.
