Secret-Cleared Digital Design Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking Secret-Cleared Digital Design Engineers in Tucson, Arizona for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will support the design, analysis, simulation, testing, and integration of digital electronic modules and circuit card assemblies used in advanced defense systems. Engineers will work with processors, FPGAs, memory devices, and high-speed interfaces while supporting hardware development from requirements and architecture through laboratory integration and production.

Required Skills

• Experience designing and developing digital electronic hardware and circuit card assemblies.
• Experience with processors, FPGAs, memory devices, and digital hardware architectures.
• Experience with industry interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and/or UART.
• Experience developing or analyzing complex, multi-layer circuit card assemblies.
• Experience with schematic capture and the PCB design process.
• Experience using electronic design, analysis, or simulation tools.
• Ability to develop hardware from system or design requirements through detailed implementation.
• Experience with parts selection and engineering trade studies.
• Ability to develop architecture and block diagrams.
• Experience supporting physical PCB layout activities.
• Hands-on experience with hardware laboratory checkout, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to use test plans and laboratory equipment to verify hardware designs.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Mid- and senior-level openings require 5+ years of relevant digital electronics design experience.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Active U.S. Secret security clearance required to start.

Preferred Skills

• Experience taking hardware designs from initial concept through development, verification, and production.
• Experience with signal-integrity and power-integrity analysis.
• Experience with FPGA or embedded software development.
• Experience transitioning complex electronic designs into production.
• Experience supporting multi-assembly systems or units.
• Technical leadership experience.
• Experience leading hardware development activities within multidisciplinary teams.

What You'll Do

• Design, analyze, simulate, test, and integrate digital electronic modules and circuit card assemblies.
• Develop digital hardware incorporating processors, FPGAs, memory, and high-speed interfaces.
• Create and analyze technical requirements.
• Perform parts selection and engineering trade studies.
• Develop hardware architectures and block diagrams.
• Perform schematic capture and support PCB physical layout.
• Apply design constraints to complex, multi-layer circuit card assemblies.
• Support laboratory checkout and hardware integration using engineering test equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware design and integration issues.
• Support verification of hardware against system and design requirements.
• Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the product-development lifecycle.
• Senior-level engineers may lead portions of hardware development and support transition into production.

Work Schedule / Shift

• Full-time onsite in Tucson, Arizona.
• First shift.
• Openings may follow either a 5/40 or 9/80A work schedule depending on the assigned position.

Pay

• $82.45 $108.50 per hour.
