    Position: Secondary ELD (English Language Development) Teacher - (FTE 1.0)

    Location: Mason Middle School

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Highly qualified teacher with valid Michigan teaching certificate
    • K-8 or 6-12 or K-12 NS Endorsement
    • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents, and staff
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Proficiency in using online learning platforms (e.g., Google Classroom)
    • Ability to create a safe and engaging learning environment
    • Ability to analyze student data to inform instruction
    • Competency in implementing high quality ESL/ELD strategies

    Essential Functions:

    • Identify, assess, and monitor the progress of English Learners (ELs) using WIDA Screener and ACCESS data, analyzing results to inform instructional decisions.
    • Develop, plan, and implement differentiated, standards-aligned English Language Development (ELD) instruction, focusing on the WIDA English Language Development Standards Framework.
    • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress.
    • Coordinate and provide guidance to ESL paraprofessionals, collaborating to implement effective instructional support.
    • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure ELs receive effective and accessible content instruction.
    • Adjust English Language Development service goals as student needs change.

    Reports To: Building Principal & Assistant Superintendent 6th - Post Secondary

    Workday/Week: Monday - Friday

    Starting Date: 2026-2027 School Year

    Compensation: Per WEA Master Agreement
