Job DetailsResponsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and filing of all SEC reports, including 10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, and other related SEC filings.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements in accordance with SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of the quarterly earnings release and investor presentations.
- Conduct research on SEC and GAAP reporting requirements and update the management team on emerging accounting and reporting standards.
- Manage the internal controls over financial reporting process and ensure the effectiveness of these controls.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the financial reporting team and foster an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
- Participate in special projects as required, including system implementations, process improvements, and merger and acquisition activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in SEC reporting, public accounting, or a similar role in the energy industry.
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills. Experience with financial reporting software is a plus.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
