Seattle - Ocean Freight Manager

Responsibilities

• Deliver 95%+ on-time ocean freight performance within six months by optimizing carrier mix, routing, and exception management.
• Cut ocean transportation costs 8–12% year-over-year through rate negotiations, consolidation, and contract compliance.
• Grow ocean freight revenue 15% annually by expanding existing accounts and converting new business in the Midwest corridor.
• Maintain 100% regulatory and customs compliance while advancing sustainability targets on every shipment.
• Lead a team of coordinators to raise operational productivity 20% via process redesign and digital workflow adoption.
• Hold customer satisfaction above 90% through proactive visibility, rapid issue resolution, and partnership reviews.
• 5+ years managing ocean freight operations, including carrier negotiations and multi-trade-lane execution.
• Proven record of delivering measurable cost savings and on-time performance in a 3PL or shipper environment.
• Deep working knowledge of Incoterms, FMC regulations, customs processes, and sustainability reporting.
• Experience leading small teams and driving process or technology improvements that scale.
• Ability to translate operational data into customer-ready insights and commercial proposals.
