Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Design Release Engineer (DRE) with strong automotive seating experience to support seat component design, development, and release activities.

Title: Seat Design Release Engineer
Location: Irvine, CA OR Plymouth, MI

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design release activities for automotive seating components.
• Design and develop seating components using CATIA V6.
• Develop and execute seating system requirements for cars and SUVs.
• Complete and release seat components, sub-systems, and detailed designs, including:
  • Back frames
  • Cushion frames
  • Foam
  • Trim
• Plastic components
• Collaborate with seat component suppliers and support vehicle development milestones, prototypes, and production builds.
• Conduct feasibility, packaging, and design studies.
• Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes and tooling for plastic and metal components.

Required Qualifications

• Must have Design Release Engineer (DRE) experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of automotive seating component experience.
• Strong experience with CATIA V6.
• Good understanding of automotive manufacturing technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of plastic and metal tooling.
