Job Summary
We are seeking a Seat Design Release Engineer (DRE) with strong experience in automotive seating system design and product release. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in CATIA V6, automotive seating components, and the complete product development lifecycle from concept through production.

Location: Irvine, CA
Key Responsibilities
- Design and release automotive seating components using CATIA V6.
- Develop and execute seating system requirements for passenger vehicles.
- Design and release seat components, including back frames, cushion frames, foam, trim, and plastic parts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to support prototype builds, validation, and production launches.
- Perform feasibility studies, packaging analysis, and design optimization.
- Ensure designs meet quality, performance, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
- Apply knowledge of plastic and metal manufacturing/tooling throughout the design process.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive seating design and release engineering.
- Hands-on experience as a Design Release Engineer (DRE).
- Strong proficiency in CATIA V6.
- Experience with automotive seating systems and component development.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, plastic and metal tooling, and product feasibility analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting prototype builds and production launches.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional engineering environment.
