POSITION OVERVIEW
The role of a Seasonal Van Driver is to safely transport Wayfinders cohort participants and staff to and from site tour trip location sites. In addition to transporting youth safely, Van Drivers must attend the tour and strive to arrive on time at all sites/locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Passion and interest in supporting science and environmental learning opportunities for underrepresented youth
Culturally competent- experience working with children of color from diverse backgrounds
Transport youth safely to and from tour sites / locations
Unload, load and clean van on the day of the trip
Availability to re-fuel the day before the tour (paid time)
Re-fuel at the conclusion of the trip
Safely park the vehicle
Ensure health and safety of participants (including emotional, and physical wellbeing), ensure youth are safe, stay on task and are respectful during transportation
Enforce rules and behavioral expectations as needed, follow behavioral management and safety protocols before departing for field trips
Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with all ELSO Incorporated staff and Studio Justice Program Director
Close attention to details which include time management (staying on schedule)
Report all accidents, problems, and successes to the Program Director (maintain and complete a daily log)
Experience or interest in driving a 12-passenger van, 15-passenger van, or an electric vehicle
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to pass a background check as required by the Oregon Department of Education for positions that work directly with youth (Oregon State Department of Education Disqualifying Crimes 342.143)
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record for 1 year prior to application
Must have clean background check
Must be at least 25 years old to apply
Volunteer and/or work experience with driving 15 passenger vans

Wayfinders Camp (July 6th- August 7th)
July 6th- July 10th/ Field Trips: 9:00am - 4:00pm (hours /dates may vary)
July 13th -July 17th/ Field Trips: 9:00am - 4:00pm (hours /dates may vary)
July 20th- July 24th/ Field Trips: 9:00am - 4:00pm (hours /dates may vary)
July 27th- July 31st/ Field Trips: 9am - 4:00pm (hours /dates may vary)
August 3rd- August 7th/ Field Trips: 9am - 4:00pm (hours /dates may vary)
