About the Job

Flat Shipping at the BVDC is seeking a hard-working, dependable, enthusiastic, and motivated team player to join their department. The responsibilities of this position are to perform all tasks involved in scanning retail cartons, ecommerce cartons, and custom orders. Loading and unloading FedEx trailers and the shipping consolidation wall.

What You'll Do | Key Accountabilities

The responsibilities of the Seasonal Shipping position will consist of but are not limited to the following:

• Stage and remove merchandise for the pack wall
• Load and unload FedEx trailers
• Prepare outbound shipments
• Perform work as assigned by department supervisor and manager
• Provide immediate feedback to management regarding discrepancies
• Follow standard operating procedures to ensure accuracy of merchandise and shipments
• Contribute to building a positive team spirit and supporting the company's goals and objectives
• Report on all maintenance or safety issues requiring corrective action
• Help to maintain and promote a clean, neat, and safe work environment
• Assist in all other areas of the distribution center when necessary
• Perform other related duties, tasks, and assignments as required

Skills & Experience

• Must have previous warehouse/distribution/production experience
• One year of experience in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution center environment
• Must have basic knowledge of computer PC skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and productivity standards and complete work in a timely manner
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills in the English language to perform necessary job functions
• Good organizational skills and hand and eye coordination
• Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Strong attention to detail with good math, counting, and problem-solving skills
• Must always maintain a professional and positive attitude with the highest level of customer service
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Knowledge of warehouse technology including radiofrequency (RF) scanners to perform daily functions is a plus
• Ability to use material handling equipment and machinery including sorter systems, conveyors, RF guns, metal hooks, plastic bags, plastic packaging, cardboard boxes, tape dispensers, and other materials necessary to the production and packaging of our merchandise

• Continuously using hands and fingers, pulling, pushing, standing, walking, sitting, reaching and working overhead, climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, stretching, crouching, and crawling
• Frequent use of ladders and/or lift equipment
• Frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more
