Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a Temporary Merchandise Assistant to provide leave support for the Retail Division.

As a Temporary Merchandise Assistant for Xanterra, you will support a team of buyers with the day-to-day data entry, purchase order processing and follow-up that keeps product flowing to our stores. This role is hands-on and detail driven. It handles the manual and administrative work so the buyers can stay focused on assortment, forecasting and strategy. This role partners with the corporate retail team. We are a team of passionate, creative, analytical and strategic merchants that get the pleasure of operating in some of the most iconic and beautiful places in the world. The Seasonal Merchandise Asssitant will be a temporary role working full-time starting the first week of Decemeber with a duration of about 14 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Enters, updates and maintains purchase orders in Xanterra's merchandise management system with a high level of accuracy.
• Performs data entry for new item setup, including product attributes, costs, retails and vendor information.
• Tracks open purchase orders and follows up with vendors on order confirmations, ship dates and delivery delays.
• Communicates PO status, changes and issues to the buyers in a timely manner.
• Maintains and updates Excel trackers, sales reports and buying worksheets as directed by the buyers.
• Supports multiple buyers at once; prioritizes requests and meets deadlines.
• Other duties and projects assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong data entry skills with a high level of speed and accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail; able to catch and correct errors before they impact orders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel filtering, sorting and basic formulas
• Comfortable with systems and quick to learn new software, including merchandise management and purchase order systems.
• Works well in a large, collaborative team; able to support multiple people and shifting priorities.
• Clear written and verbal communication with consistent, proactive follow-up.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1+ years of data entry, administrative, purchasing or office support experience.
• Experience with purchase orders, inventory or ERP/merchandise management systems is a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Office environment; prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs (product samples).

Compensation:

$19.30 - $21.30 per hour based on experience.
