Seasonal Gift Shop Associate

Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour

Job Summary

Gift Shop Associates are responsible for providing exceptional customer service, while supporting the daily operations of the Nauticus Giftshop as well as our satellite locations during the Winterfest season. This position assists guests with making product selections, operating point of sales systems and cash handling, maintains merchandise displays and inventory, and helps create an inviting and enjoyable shopping experience for all visitors. Perform other duties as assigned to support the successful operation of the Nauticus Gift Shop.

The ideal candidate is friendly, comfortable with customer engagement and able to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Seasonal Position: November 9, 2026 -January 7, 2027

Reports to: Giftshop Assistant Manager

Employment Type: Part-time, Seasonal

Work Location: In person

Essential Functions

• Welcome and acknowledge every guest who enters the Gift Shop
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Assist guests with finding and selecting merchandise
• Operate a point of sales system
• Accurate Cash handling 
• Represent Nauticus in a professional and positive manner

Knowledge & Experience

• Previous retail or customer service preferred
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures
• Ability to follow established procedures and work independently when needed

 Skills & Abilities 

• Friendly and approachable demeanor 
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills 
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and helpful when addressing customer concerns
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail

Work Environment 

• Moderate physical activity; may require lifting and pushing over 30 lbs. 
• Ability to stand/walk for extended period of time (4+ Hours)
• Requires working outdoors
• Regular evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required
• Part-time schedules may vary based on operational needs and may include both daytime and evening hours

Seasonal Schedule

• Typical Operating hours are from 4pm-11pm Monday - Sunday 
• Additional daytime hours may be available based on operational needs

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service preferred
• Open availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays 
• Demonstrates a commitment to providing excellent customer service 
• Cash handling and POS experience preferred
