Seasonal Band Musician

The Salvation Army Midland Division Headquarters located in St. Louis, Missouri, is looking for a Seasonal Band Musician. This position is expected to advance and support the Mission of The Salvation Army. Seasonal Band/Musician will be responsible for playing brass seasonal music for holiday events around the Midland Division.

This is a part-time seasonal position 15 hours per week with starting pay of $15.00 per hour.

Essential Functions

• Work with the DMD, Officers, and DHQ staff in the Program Department.
• Play for various events during the Kettle Season across the Midland Division.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience in brass instrumental performances.
• Ability to read music at an accomplished level, treble clef preferred.
• Ability to work with and relate to people of various backgrounds in a nondiscriminatory manner regardless of age, sex, cultural history, ethnicity, economic level, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.
• Strong communication skills demonstrated by experience in working with speakers of English as a second language, as well as cross-cultural communication.
• Adhere to all Salvation Army policies and procedures.
• Familiarity with The Salvation Army's area of service.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Be available to perform at kettle sites and events in St. Louis, Missouri, and Illinois during the week and on weekends.

Physical and Working Conditions

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis and for extended periods of time.
• Ability to move and pack music stands and chairs in and out of vehicles.
• Ability to play in various types of weather.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes).
• Ability to understand written information.
