The Seal Table Technician supports nuclear power plant refueling and maintenance outages by performing precision assembly, disassembly, inspection, cleaning, and testing of mechanical seals and associated components.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble, disassemble, inspect, clean, and refurbish mechanical seals and seal components.
  • Perform seal table operations in accordance with nuclear procedures, engineering specifications, and quality standards.
  • Measure critical dimensions using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and torque equipment.
  • Inspect components for wear, corrosion, damage, and dimensional tolerances.
  • Complete required quality assurance documentation, work packages, and inspection records.
  • Maintain Foreign Material Exclusion (FME) controls and contamination prevention practices.
  • Work in radiologically controlled areas while following ALARA principles and radiation protection requirements.
  • Perform equipment setup, maintenance, and housekeeping of the seal table work area.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, quality control personnel, and outage team members.
  • Follow all nuclear safety, industrial safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Support extended work schedules, including overtime, nights, weekends, and travel during outage seasons.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools and mechanical hand tools.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
  • Ability to pass background checks, fitness-for-duty testing, and radiological training.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces or extended standing positions.
