    Job Summary

    The Seafood Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the seafood department, including inventory management, product quality, merchandising, and team performance. This role ensures operations align with company standards, maintain high levels of freshness and food safety, and support overall sales and customer satisfaction.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee daily seafood department operations to ensure product availability, quality, and presentation
    • Maintain accurate inventory levels through proper stock control, rotation, and replenishment practices
    • Ensure all seafood products are handled, stored, and displayed in accordance with company and food safety standards
    • Monitor product freshness and quality, ensuring timely removal or disposition of unsellable items
    • Supervise and manage department staff to ensure adherence to company procedures and performance expectations
    • Coordinate merchandising, signage, and product displays to support sales and customer engagement
    • Review inventory trends, shrink, and discrepancies to identify and address concerns
    • Oversee receiving processes by ensuring incoming seafood is properly inspected for quality and accuracy
    • Maintain department cleanliness, organization, and compliance with applicable regulations

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience in seafood, grocery, retail, or warehouse operations
    • Strong understanding of inventory control, product handling, and stock management
    • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
    • Experience leading or managing a team
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience managing a seafood or perishable department
    • Familiarity with food safety regulations and audit expectations
    • Background in high-volume retail or wholesale environments

    Work Environment / Expectations

    Primarily retail or warehouse environment with temperature-controlled areas. Requires standing, walking, and handling products for extended periods. May require schedule flexibility based on department needs.
