Introduction

We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with expertise in Playwright and Python. This is an onsite role for a duration of 6 months, requiring candidates to be local to Austin, TX or SFO Bay Area.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Python or JavaScript for writing scalable automation scripts.
  • Proven experience automating complex web UIs (using frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.) and testing REST APIs.
  • Demonstrated experience testing interconnected systems, validating data handshakes, and ensuring end-to-end data consistency across multiple platforms.
  • Exceptional ability to read through PRDs, understand complex business logic, and translate requirements into actionable test scenarios.
  • Hands-on experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
  • Prior experience with hands-on device testing (mobile phones, tablets, or connected TV devices).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be comfortable speaking up in meetings, asking clarifying questions, and collaborating closely with a diverse team.
  • Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry.

Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience testing advertising technology, campaign management tools, or video streaming products.
  • Familiarity with modern test management and bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute automated test scripts using Playwright and Python.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Analyze test results, identify bugs, and work with developers to resolve issues.
