The Opportunity

Join our San Diego office for hands-on experience in California employment and labor law while contributing to real client matters. This opportunity is designed for a motivated, detail-oriented second-year law student who values strong research, thoughtful analysis, and clear writing-and wants to learn from experienced attorneys committed to mentoring the next generation of employment lawyers.

What You'll Do

• Research with purpose. Analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and other authorities and translate the findings into clear, practical work product.
• Write with impact. Draft research memoranda, motions, and other legal documents for attorney review.
• Support case preparation. Summarize depositions, review pleadings, organize case materials, and help attorneys prepare for litigation milestones.
• Contribute to client work. Assist with client inquiries, presentations, and litigation strategy under attorney supervision.
• Learn by observing. Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings as appropriate.
• Broaden your experience. Take on additional legal assignments that build practical skills and exposure to a California labor and employment practice.

What You Bring

• Current enrollment as a second-year student at an accredited law school
• Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills
• Clear, concise, and professional verbal communication
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Genuine interest in labor and employment law
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
• Sound judgment, initiative, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach

Compensation

The expected compensation is $40 per hour.
