This role serves as a servant leader, Agile coach, and mentor, driving continuous improvement while helping teams embrace Scrum, Kanban, and Lean Agile practices. Location: Buffalo, NY Duration: 12 months Primary Responsibilities Lead and coach multiple Agile teams using Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming (XP) methodologies. Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, continuous improvement, and team self-organization. Coach teams on Agile best practices, including user stories, story mapping, TDD, ATDD, continuous integration, and information radiators. Remove organizational impediments and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure successful sprint execution. Mentor junior Scrum Masters and contribute to enterprise Agile maturity initiatives. Collaborate with Agile leaders to improve organizational Agile practices and delivery effectiveness. Promote adherence to organizational risk management, governance, and compliance standards. Support an inclusive, collaborative work environment focused on continuous learning and improvement. Scope of Responsibilities Provide servant leadership across multiple Agile teams. Drive enterprise Agile adoption and continuous process improvement. Apply systems thinking, coaching, and data-driven decision-making to optimize team performance. Build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders while facilitating effective collaboration. Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities No direct supervisory responsibility. Leads teams through influence, coaching, accountability, and servant leadership. Provides guidance and mentorship to less experienced Scrum Masters. Education and Experience Required Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four (4) years of experience working on Agile teams, including at least two (2) years as a Scrum Master. In lieu of a degree, eight (8) years of combined education and/or professional experience, including four (4) years on Agile teams and two (2) years as a Scrum Master. Experience with Enterprise Change Management and Agile Scaling. Strong knowledge of Systems Thinking and Data Analytics. Advanced Emotional Intelligence and coaching skills. Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and coaching cross-functional teams. Excellent communication, facilitation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills. Education and Experience Preferred Experience in two or more technology disciplines such as project management, business analysis, software development, testing, user experience, or deployment. Knowledge of Agile and Lean principles. Experience supporting digital product delivery and Agile transformations. Understanding of Design Thinking methodologies. Proven ability to lead through influence and coach high-performing teams. Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent) preferred. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
