Job Details:

The Scrum Master is a “servant leader” who helps the rest of the Scrum Team follow the process. This role will works side by side with product owners, team participants, management, and other organizations to define, deploy, and optimize our agile/scrum based processes. The role requires the individual to be a champion for our Agile adoption and take responsibility for coaching and developing self-directed development teams by engaging the stakeholder(s) and removing obstacles to help us break new ground as we roll out agile throughout our organization.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities: 
Summary: Perform as a Scrum Master for 1-2 scrum team(s) simultaneously completing system life cycle using the Agile Scrum Methodology phases from project initiation, analysis and requirements, design, coding, testing and implementation.

  • Perform burn-down metrics and maintenance, inspect and provide metrics on artifacts, conduct change management, remove impediments, anticipate risks and dependencies managing them proactively. 20%
  • Perform Demand Management and Project Support Office functions 30%
  • Assist the Product Owner and Scrum team with Product and Sprint backlog planning and maintenance, ceremonies, artifacts creation and maintenance. 25%
  • Analyze, provide guidance, and communicate with all stakeholders constantly improving the quality of deliverables, evolving the Definition of “Done”. 15%
  • Train and coach the organization on Scrum framework, tools, values, processes, principles, values, best practices, execution and adoption. Ensuring Agile/Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to across the organization to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organization. 10%

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): What KSAs are required to perform this job?

  • Ability to embrace the “servant leader” role of removing barriers to productivity, monitoring progress, and coaching team members on their roles
  • Ability to communicate to a wide variety of audiences, diverse, and cross-functional teams, to foster a collaborative culture and environment, communicating effectively both verbally and in written form with good listening skills
  • Ability to understand and address technical issues, foster transparency, visibility, drive accountability and radiate information
  • Ability to lead with enthusiasm, assertiveness, and flexibility
  • Ability to multi-task and manage with varying priorities
  • Delegation and follow-up skills, with emphasis on adherence to deadlines
  • Skilled in facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Experience leading small to medium, technically complex projects
  • Experience with business support software applications: MS Office Suite, Project Server & Visio
  • Experience with ServiceNow tool suite, code deployment tools & workflow processes
  • Experience with Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration & Testing

 

Qualifications:

Work Experience &/or Education: 

  • Minimum two years of experience in IT required
  • Minimum one year of experience in IT Full development life cycle required
  • Minimum one year of experience in software development experience required
  • CSM preferred or willingness to obtain
  • CPAM or PMI-ACP preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Retail experience preferred
