Screed Operator
Full-Time in Bowmansville, PA - TSG
Our client is looking for a Paving Screed Operator who will be responsible for operating and controlling the screed on an asphalt paving machine to ensure a smooth, even, and properly compacted surface. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and coordination with the paving crew to meet project specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the screed controls on an asphalt paver to regulate depth, width, and smoothness of the asphalt mat
- Adjust screed settings to maintain proper grade, slope, and crown according to project plans
- Monitor asphalt material flow and temperature to ensure consistent paving quality
- Coordinate with the paver operator, roller operators, and ground crew for efficient workflow
- Perform routine checks and minor maintenance on screed equipment
- Identify and correct surface irregularities during paving operations
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Read and interpret project plans, grade stakes, and specifications
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2+ years of experience operating paving equipment, specifically screeds
- Strong understanding of asphalt paving processes and materials
- Ability to read grade stakes, blueprints, and layout drawings
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not always required)

- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods and work on uneven surfaces
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, and noisy environments
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb onto equipment
This role is based in Bowmansville, PA and is an on-site role.
