Summary:The ideal candidate will have hands-on flow cytometry experience, with strong preference for experience supporting cell sorting, cytometer startup/shutdown, instrument monitoring, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting. This person should be comfortable working in a shared-resource or service-based lab environment where they are supporting scientists directly, resolving instrument issues, and helping users complete experiments successfully.
Responsible for operating and maintaining flow cytometry analyzers and cell sorters, including instrument setup, quality control, monitoring runs, and routine maintenance. Designs and optimizes multiparameter panels for conventional and full-spectrum cytometry. Provides user training and support in a high-throughput shared lab environment while ensuring compliance with BSL-2+ safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Cell sorting support
- Starting up and shutting down cytometers
- Monitoring cell sorts during operation
- Instrument cleaning and routine maintenance
- Monthly maintenance involving fluidics/PBS/saline systems
- Supporting analyzer-only cytometers
- Troubleshooting clogs or instrument issues
- Helping users complete experiments successfully
- Proactively checking in with scientists and lab users

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $40.00 - $43.00 /hr. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
