Scientist (PCR, qPCR, molecular biology)

The ideal candidate will havehands-on molecular biology experience, strong analytical skills, and a solidunderstanding of DNA/RNA-based techniques. PerformDNA/RNA isolation and molecular biology techniques including PCR, qPCR, and preferably digital PCR.

Our client, a worldleader in biotechnology and life sciences, is looking for a “Scientist"based out of Pleasanton, CA.

Job Duration: LongTerm Contract (Possibility Of Extension)

Pay Rate : $49/hr on W2DOE

Support assaydevelopment activities through laboratory experimentation, data analysis, anddocumentation in a regulated R&D environment. The ideal candidate will havehands-on molecular biology experience, strong analytical skills, and a solidunderstanding of DNA/RNA-based techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct laboratory experiments following established protocols, safety guidelines, and data integrity standards.
• PerformDNA/RNA isolation and molecular biology techniques including PCR, qPCR, and preferably digital PCR.
• Analyze experimental data using statistical tools such as JMP and document results in electronic laboratory notebooks (eLN).
• Prepare technical reports, protocols, and supporting documentation for design history files.
• Troubleshoot experimental issues and contribute to project timelines and objectives.
• Present findings to supervisors and project teams as needed.
• Support routine laboratory operations, inventory management, safety compliance, and quality system requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
• 0–5 years of laboratory experience in assay development, molecular biology, or related research environments.
• Hands-on experience with DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, and molecular biology techniques.
• Strong data analysis and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with statistical software such as JMP preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory quality systems, data integrity practices, and regulated environments is a plus.
