Scientist - Onsite

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Scientist - Onsite position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in South San Francisco, CA. This is an 18+ month contract opportunity.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Scientist with a strong background in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), epigenomics, and computational biology. This role requires a combination of wet-lab (hands-on laboratory) and dry-lab (computational analysis) experience. The scientist will work with a research team to execute experiments and generate high-quality data using cutting-edge genomic analysis platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Perform nucleic acid isolation and QC, qPCR/dPCR/ddPCR, and NGS library construction, including standard and high throughput RNA-seq (e.g. DRUG-seq) as well as ChIP-seq or CUT&RUN
• Process NGS data and perform quality control
• Operate high-throughput sequencers, sample quality control instruments, and automated liquid handlers
• Handle maintenance of instruments and common laboratory material stocks
• Organize and clearly document experimental samples and projects in an ELN

Requirements:

• Doctoral degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, genomics, or related fields OR Master's degree and at least 2 years of scientific experience OR Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience
• Hands-on NGS library preparation and construction experience
• Experience with ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN, or related epigenomics techniques
• Experience using R and/or Python programming languages for computational biology, sequencing data analysis, and quality control

Desired skills:

• Familiarity with BRAVO automation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work well in teams
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills in generating high-quality NGS data
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects
• Adept with spreadsheet and word processing software
• Experience with NGS sequencing, computational data processing, and gene perturbation

Pay range:  up to $42.16 per hour
