Description

We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a Scientist III for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Worcester, MA, 01605.  Details of the position are as follows: 
 
Job Description: 

  • Pay: $65.00- &70.00/hr to start.
  • Shift: Standard day shift, Monday- Friday, onsite position.
  • 3.5-month (through the end of the year) contract position to start with the possibility of extension or conversion based on budget and performance.
  • Position will mainly be responsible for performing mass spectrometry analyses of client biologics, including intact and reduced mass analysis by LC-MS and peptide mapping by LC-MS, to support sequence verification and post-translational modification profiling, independently performing separation and fractionation methods using HPLC and AKTA, and conducting biophysical characterization studies such as DSC.
  • Responsibilities also include designing and executing experiments for method development and investigations, supporting process development through raw material analysis using vibrational spectroscopy and metabolomics experiments using mass spectrometry, generating precise and reproducible data, and organizing and documenting experimental results in an electronic laboratory notebook.
  • Position will also be responsible for drafting protocols, method development reports, and technical characterization reports, communicating analytical results in a timely manner, and maintaining laboratory equipment to ensure reliable operation and accurate testing.
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree is required.
  • 2+ years’ experience with a masters, or 5+ years’ experience with a bachelor’s is required.
  • Experience with biologics/ large molecule is required.
  • Hands-on experience with AKTA or similar chromatography systems is required, AKTA is preferred.
  • AKTA purification/fractionation experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Mass spectrometry/ LC-MS is highly preferred.
  • Experience with protocol, technical report writing, and ELN’s is required.
