Description

We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a Scientist IIIfor a prominent client of ours. This position is located in South San Francisco, CA, 94080.Details of the position are as follows: 
 
Job Description: 
  • Pay: 79.00-$85.00/hr to start!
  • Contract position: Duration TBD
  • Monday- Friday onsite position- Standard Day Shift.
  • Position will mainly be responsible for applying subject matter expertise in T-cell biology and synthetic biology to support the development of next-generation in vivo CAR-T cell therapies, translating emerging scientific and intellectual property insights into impactful therapeutic programs, and independently managing project milestones, timelines, and experimental priorities.
  • Responsibilities also include designing and executing in vitro assays to evaluate CAR-T biology, including cytotoxicity, T-cell effector function, and immune cell phenotyping, organizing and analyzing complex scientific data, and adapting experimental strategies to evolving scientific needs.
  • Position will also be responsible for synthesizing and communicating experimental strategies, results, and scientific interpretations to internal and external stakeholders through presentations and scientific reports, while maintaining comprehensive and accurate experimental records in an Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN).
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years industry experience, Master’s degree with 5+ years industry experience, or PhD required.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design, perform, and interpret experiments to address scientific questions.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and apply new laboratory techniques while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong scientific writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive experience in assay development for CAR-T candidate generation and assessment.
  • Experience with chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) construct design, CAR-T production, and evaluation of T-cell function.
  • Deep expertise in primary T-cell isolation, activation, transduction, T-cell cytotoxicity, proliferation, cytokine profiling, multicolor flow cytometry, and immunological assays, including ELISA, Luminex, and cytotoxicity assays.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading preclinical cell therapy projects and mentoring scientists.
  • Experience with cell-based in vitro assay development.
  • Experience with semi-automated liquid-handling systems for high-throughput workflows.
