Location: Peachtree Corners, GA (On-Site)

Pay Range: $57-$64/hr - based on experience

Overview

Seeking an experienced Scientist III to join a leading biotechnology organization focused on developing innovative immunohematology reagents and diagnostic assays. This role will play a key part in the development, optimization, and integration of diagnostic reagents and assays for automated in-vitro diagnostic platforms.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in assay development, immunology, immunohematology, transfusion medicine, or diagnostic product development and will thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced R&D environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently design, plan, and execute complex laboratory experiments supporting reagent and assay development programs.
• Develop, optimize, and characterize reagents, formulations, and assay parameters for automated diagnostic platforms.
• Analyze scientific data, interpret results, and provide technical recommendations to project teams.
• Evaluate assay performance, including sensitivity, specificity, precision, stability, reproducibility, interference, and robustness.
• Lead experimental workstreams and Design of Experiments (DOE) activities within larger product development programs.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to reagent development, assay performance, platform integration, validation, and manufacturing transfer.
• Support verification, validation, and commercialization efforts for new and existing diagnostic products.
• Contribute to design documentation, technical reports, risk assessments, validation protocols, and regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, Software, and Technical Operations teams.
• Mentor junior scientists and provide technical guidance to Scientist I and Scientist II team members.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor"s degree in Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or related scientific discipline with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• OR Master"s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• OR PhD with 1-2+ years of industry or post-doctoral experience.
• Strong experience in reagent development, assay development, immunology, immunohematology, or transfusion medicine.
• Experience independently planning and executing scientific research projects.
• Proven ability to analyze complex scientific data and solve technical problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience developing assays or reagents for automated in-vitro diagnostic platforms.
• Experience with immunohematology testing, serology, or blood banking technologies.
• Familiarity with medical device, biotechnology, or diagnostic product development environments.
• Experience leading Design of Experiments (DOE) studies.
• Knowledge of product validation, manufacturing transfer, and regulatory requirements.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $57.00 - $64.00/hr.
