The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Scientist II  for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Irvine, CA . Details for the position are as follows:
 

Job Description

Job Title: Formulation & Process Development Scientist
Location: Not Specified – Onsite
Pay Rate: $48–$52/hr
Duration: 1 year
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

  • Conduct laboratory experiments for sterile liquid drug product formulation and manufacturing process development.

  • Develop and characterize sterile liquid dosage forms including solutions, emulsions, and suspensions.

  • Execute analytical and characterization studies to support formulation and process development.

  • Plan, execute, analyze, and interpret lab-scale formulation experiments.

  • Maintain accurate experimental records in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN).

  • Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or related scientific discipline with 3–5 years of relevant industry experience; or

  • Master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline with 2+ years of relevant industry experience.

Required Skills

  • Sterile liquid formulation and pharmaceutical process development.

  • Liquid dosage forms including solutions, emulsions, and suspensions.

  • Sterilization techniques including filtration and autoclaving.

  • Analytical characterization: pH, osmolality, viscosity/rheology, turbidity, particle size, and physical appearance.

  • Hands-on HPLC/UPLC experience.

  • HPLC/UPLC detectors including UV, PDA, and RI.

  • Pharmaceutical laboratory experimentation and data analysis.

  • Electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN) and technical documentation.

  • Fundamental statistical analysis and statistical software.

Preferred Skills

  • Sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing process development.

  • Advanced formulation development and optimization.

  • Experience with HPLC/UPLC method application in pharmaceutical development.

  • Technical report generation and scientific data interpretation.
