Scientist I

Pride Health / Russell Tobin is supporting a top pharmaceutical organization near San Diego area that has a contract opening for a Scientist I.

Important Details:

• Employment Type: 06 months Contract (Possible extension on the basis of performance)
• Schedule/Shift: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM PT
• Location: San Diego, CA (Fully Onsite)
• Approved Pay Range: $40 - $45/hr on W2

Responsibilities Include:

• Design and clone expression vectors and donor plasmids using advanced molecular cloning techniques.
• Perform DNA and mRNA transfections in mammalian cell lines.
• Prepare and characterize in vitro-transcribed (IVT) mRNA for research applications.
• Evaluate gene expression using molecular assays, including Western blot, qRT-PCR, and luciferase reporter assays.
• Maintain accurate electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs) and prepare experimental summaries.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years or Master's degree with 1+ years of experience in Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with molecular cloning techniques, including Gibson Assembly, Golden Gate cloning, and site-directed mutagenesis.
• Experience preparing and working with in vitro-transcribed (IVT) mRNA and DNA constructs.
• Proficiency with molecular assays such as Western blot, qRT-PCR, and luciferase reporter assays.
• Preferred experience with mammalian cell culture and genetic manipulation of cell lines.
• Familiarity with SnapGene, GraphPad Prism, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
