Description

The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Scientist I for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Pleasanton, CADetails for the position are as follows:

 

Job Description:

  • Pay rate up to $50.77 Per Hour
  • 11 1/2 Month Contract 
  • Independently plan and execute laboratory activities supporting Culture Collection and biological panel production.
  • Perform microbiology, mammalian cell culture, and molecular biology techniques using human cell lines, microorganisms, and other biological materials.
  • Perform DNA/RNA/plasmid extraction, quantification, recombinant cloning, bacterial transformation, and plasmid propagation.
  • Generate, characterize, maintain, and manage biological materials supporting assay development, clinical studies, and product development.
  • Analyze data, troubleshoot technical challenges, and recommend solutions.
  • Lead small to moderate projects, coordinating timelines and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records in LIMS and electronic laboratory notebooks (eLN) in accordance with GLP, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, presentations, and knowledge-transfer materials.
  • Support laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, inventory, biosafety, and process improvements.
  • Work in accordance with OSHA, ISO, QSR, and applicable safety and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or related field with 4+ years of relevant industry experience, or Master’s degree with 2+ years.
  • Hands-on experience with microbiology, mammalian cell culture, molecular biology, and aseptic techniques.
  • Experience working with BSL-2 biological materials, including microorganisms and human-derived specimens.
  • Knowledge of bacterial enumeration, MPN, MALDI-TOF, microbial taxonomy, or microbial characterization.
  • Experience with LIMS/eLN, GLP, data integrity, and laboratory documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, troubleshoot, and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Comfortable with routine laboratory activities including plating, pipetting, labeling, stocking, and vialing.
  • Experience with automated or high-throughput laboratory workflows PREFERRED
  • Assay or platform development experience PREFERRED
  • Project coordination or project management experience PREFERRED
