Scientist I - Analytical Chemistry

Pay Range: $26.42hr - $31.42hr

Job Overview:

Our client is seeking a Scientist I to provide technical support for diagnostic products. The successful candidate will assist in designing and executing experiments, performing testing on Analytical Chemistry instruments, and supporting oligonucleotide manufacturing and characterization activities.

Duties:

This position is part of the Technical Product Support team and will primarily support oligonucleotide manufacturing, characterization, and validation activities.

The candidate will learn and apply the Quality System, document change control processes, and technical impact assessments, while working cross-functionally with scientists and engineers to investigate and resolve technical documentation and product-related issues.

A general understanding of organic chemistry principles and prior experience working in a wet lab environment is highly desirable.

Experience with oligonucleotides, including synthesis, purification, analytical characterization, assay development, or related laboratory techniques, is preferred.

Advanced degrees may offset required years of experience.

• Provide technical support for diagnostic products under the guidance of senior team members.
• Assist in designing and executing experiments.
• Perform testing on Analytical Chemistry instruments.
• Analyze data and summarize results.
• Perform laboratory activities, including hands-on wet lab work supporting Product testing, characterization, and development efforts.
• Support oligonucleotide manufacturing, characterization, validation, and continuous improvement activities.
• Learn and apply Quality System requirements, change control processes, and technical impact assessments.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and cross-functional partners to investigate technical documentation and product-related issues.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and technical documentation in accordance with established procedures.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field (e.g., chemistry, biochemistry, biology, organic chemistry, or related discipline).
• Master's degree preferred.

Skills:

• Knowledge of GMP, ISO, and FDA regulations is preferred.
• Working knowledge of oligonucleotide chemistry and associated laboratory techniques, including synthesis, purification, analytical characterization, or assay development, is highly desirable.
• Experience with small-molecule chemistry or related wet lab techniques is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and data analysis skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
