Scientific Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a Scientific Technician to support laboratory testing and donor processing operations. This role is responsible for performing analytical testing, operating laboratory equipment, documenting results, and maintaining compliance with quality and regulatory standards. This is an excellent opportunity for recent science graduates looking to start a career in laboratory operations, healthcare, or biomanufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform donor suitability testing and routine laboratory assays
  • Conduct analytical testing using manual and automated methods
  • Analyze, document, and review test results
  • Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Complete quality control activities and preventative maintenance procedures
  • Manage sample workflow and test data using laboratory information systems
  • Follow cGMP, regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Collaborate with laboratory and cross-functional teams to support daily operations

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor"s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related scientific field
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures

Preferred:

  • MLT or MT certification
  • Tennessee laboratory licensure
  • 2+ years of laboratory experience

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Work Environment

  • Laboratory and office setting within a donor processing facility
  • Hands-on work with analytical instruments and laboratory information systems
  • Focus on quality, compliance, and safety standards

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
