    Job Description:

    The Scientific Instruments (SI) Manufacturing Engineer supports our manufacturing and engineering teams, collaborating closely with managers, electronic technicians, QA, and service teams, to execute the development of new products, and drive manufacturing and service efficiency improvement.

    The SI Manufacturing Engineer develops and optimizes all types of board-level circuit design with an emphasis on analog and mixed signal circuit design including low noise amplifiers, power supplies, analog-to-digital converters, and basic digital interfaces.

    Reporting to the SI Manufacturing Manager, this position supports product sustenance, production support activities, and participates in new product design, product validation, and scaling efforts.

    The SI Manufacturing Engineer will:

    • Develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, work instructions, and test procedures.
    • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), pilot builds, production transfers, and manufacturing readiness activities.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, throughput, productivity, and cost reduction.
    • Lead root cause investigations and implementing corrective and preventive actions for production and field issues.
    • Design and maintain production fixtures, tooling, and test equipment.
    • Support ECOs, deviations, process validations, and manufacturing documentation.
    • Work directly with suppliers and contract manufacturers to resolve manufacturing and quality-related issues.
    • Support FAI activities, compliance requirements, and quality audits.
    • Monitor manufacturing metrics and identifying opportunities for process improvements and standardization.
    • Act as a key interface between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Service teams to ensure successful product introduction and sustained production support.
    • Perform bench and hands-on testing of prototype systems and fixtures.
    • Support manufacturing needs by handling occasional testing work associated with sales or service orders.
    • Perform root cause analysis on manufacturing rigs and systems where failure rates and labor routings need improvement. Oversee troubleshooting diagnostics on failed PCBA's and box-built systems.
    • Identify and resolve lifecycle issues through researching alternate components.
    • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-marking, work quality, and to reduce costs.
    • Must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.

    SI Manufacturing Engineer Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or electrical engineering
    • 3+ years of relevant electronics testing, troubleshooting and manufacturing support experience.
    • Knowledge of Analog, Digital design, and power supply design.
    • Technical knowledge of electronic components.
    • Good electronics troubleshooting skill.
    • Ability to read and understand electronic component datasheets, schematic drawings, and PCB layouts.
    • Knowledge of component specifications, and quality definitions
    • Familiarity with RoHS, REACH, and other compliances.

    Employee Type: Salaried

    Salary Minimum: 80,000

    Salary Maximum: 100,000
